Questions about official Georgia criminal records must go to the government office that holds the source record. Georgia Criminal History is a private reference site and cannot process record requests. Statewide questions may belong with GCIC, the Georgia Department of Corrections, or the Georgia Sex Offender Registry. Arrest reports, bookings, and court files usually remain with one of Georgia's 159 county agencies.

This Is Not a Government Office. Georgia Criminal History cannot obtain or correct official records, perform an official background check, or accept a record-restriction filing. Contact the responsible Georgia agency or court directly.

Need an Official Record?

Use the official route that matches the Georgia record you need:

  • Criminal histories and rap sheets: use the Georgia GBI and GCIC route for the appropriate public or personal check
  • State prison status: use the Georgia Department of Corrections Find an Offender service
  • Registry information: search the Georgia Sex Offender Registry or contact the registering county sheriff
  • Court files: review Georgia criminal court cases, then contact the clerk that maintains the case
  • Incident and police reports: contact the state or local law-enforcement agency that created the report
  • County records: find the sheriff, jail, prosecutor, or clerk through the county directory

For personal record inspection or a criminal-history update, GCIC publishes an appointment-only physical location at 3121 Panthersville Road, Decatur, GA 30034. Criminal-history updates and restriction correspondence may be mailed to GCIC CCH/Identification Services, P.O. Box 370808, Decatur, GA 30037-0808. Call 404-244-2639 before visiting because the lobby does not offer same-day appointments.
